How does a car repellent work?
There's probably no driver who's unfamiliar with the problem of wild animals suddenly jumping out onto the road in front of their car. While squashing insects on the windshield or accidentally running over a hedgehog or other animal won't have major consequences, dealing with a deer or other larger animal can be dangerous. Such an encounter can, at best, result in damaged bodywork and a broken window, and at worst, even a serious road accident. Smaller animals can be dangerous when the car is parked. And you'll have to deal with washing off droppings, removing carcasses, or chewing on cables. However, automotive manufacturers are working to develop technologies that will help prevent such unpleasant incidents on the road, resulting in car repellents . What is this device and how does it work?
Principle of operation
Car repellents, also often called rodent or marten repellents, are devices with a wide range of applications. They can be used both in moving or parked vehicles, and even inside buildings. On the road, they will help you avoid collisions with animals, during stops, or at home – rodents, martens, mice, rats, or insects roaming your property. The vast majority of repellents work by emitting specific sounds. These are ultrasounds, which are sounds inaudible to the human ear. They emit pulses, varying in intensity and characteristics. This makes them act like an aggressive alarm siren, which is perfectly audible to animals. The variable sounds also prevent animals from becoming accustomed to the signals, which is useful when using the repellent during stops.
Some models of repellers can also emit a signal through speakers, which increases the sound range, and can also generate sounds audible to humans. Contact repellers are also available. This model is recommended primarily for problems with martens and other rodents. Upon stepping on a tile, the animal will receive an electric shock. However, the intensity of the shock is such that the pest will only be frightened and stunned—it won't kill it. Therefore, you don't have to worry about leaving your car outside overnight and having to pick up rat carcasses in the morning. A car repeller is a simple yet effective way to combat uninvited guests in your car or on the road. We recommend it especially if you have a cottage in the countryside or
