BMW 17-PIN Active System Adapter
Active systems are a step up from traditional systems. Their performance significantly improves the sound quality of the speaker system adapted to their purpose. A characteristic feature of their operation is the differentiation between high-frequency and low-frequency tones, which reach the human ear at different levels. This slightly higher level of complexity requires that the adapter connecting the two electrical centers be both appropriately sensitive to the signals passing through, and resistant to harmful noise. This can only be achieved through high-quality manufacturing and materials.

Active system adapters retain the functionality of the OEM amplified system.
This allows you to connect an aftermarket head unit to an OEM amplified system while retaining the OEM amplifier and connected speakers by adapting, matching, or converting the source's output signals to the OEM amplifier's input signal.
Depending on the vehicle and the installed OEM amplification system, various functions such as attenuation, sound, or subwoofer settings may be lost.

In individual cases, depending on the OEM system and the retrofitted radio, increased noise or noise may occur when switching on or off.
