The MERCURY series subwoofers combine striking design with exceptionally robust engineering – in true HiFonics style. Chrome-plated steel baskets give them an exclusive character and are eye-catching in any installation, especially when mounted inverted. However, they impress not only with their appearance – the components used in their construction ensure high durability and excellent sound quality.

Lightweight, stiff paper cones, durable rubber surrounds, and sturdy lower springs ensure complete control over the cone's operation, even at large excursions. Both the smaller MRW84 (20 cm) and the larger MRW104 (25 cm) are equipped with a large 50 mm voice coil , a rarity in this class of transducers, significantly enhancing their capabilities.

Thanks to their compact volume requirements, MERCURY subwoofers are ideal for bass-reflex enclosures , where they provide a very low lower cutoff frequency – for example, the MRW84 reaches 32 Hz at 20 l BR (-3 dB) . With slightly less bass depth but greater dynamics, they also perform well in small sealed enclosures , offering fast, tight, and controlled bass.
