Head Gasket Leak Tester for CO2 Measurement

in the Cooling System

The tester was designed to eliminate suspected head gasket and cylinder head damage in liquid-cooled gasoline, diesel, and LPG vehicles. If the gasket is leaking and CO2 is entering the cooling system, the reaction fluid turns yellow or green.

The principle of operation of the device is based on measuring the CO2 concentration - in case of increased concentration, the reaction fluid reacts with CO2 and changes its color.

The set includes:

• CO2 reaction fluid 60 ml (enough for 30 tests)
• Conical universal adapter 25mm-55mm
• Measuring tube

 

 

The black measuring adapter (25mm-55mm) allows you to check six times more different coolant filler diameters than testers with a single white adapter. It can be used to check passenger cars, trucks, tractor-trailers, excavators, motorcycles, and forklifts, among others.

The adapter is made of a special rubber mixture resistant to high temperatures and appropriately soft – thanks to which it fits tightly to the filler neck and the tester tube, guaranteeing 100% tightness during the test.

Instructions for performing the test:

1. Fill the device with reaction fluid to the level between the chambers (approx. 2ml).
2. Connect the tester to the opening of the expansion tank or radiator.
3. Start the engine and increase the revs to obtain higher combustion pressure.
4. Leave the engine at a slightly increased speed and observe the reaction fluid's behavior.
5. If the reaction fluid changes color to yellow or green within a few minutes of the test, this indicates a damaged head gasket or damage to the head itself.
6. After completing the tests, carefully disassemble the device.

 

 

Test results:

1. A color change from blue to green in a diesel engine indicates damage to the head gasket or the head itself.
2. A color change from blue to yellow in a petrol/LPG engine indicates damage to the head gasket or the head itself.
3. Reaction fluid blue – No CO2 detected in the system.

Safety information:

• When carrying out a test on the radiator reservoir, it is necessary to exercise extra caution when unscrewing the cap on a warm engine and during the test itself - risk of burns!
• During the test, do not allow the coolant to mix with the reaction fluid – the test may be incorrect!
• Keep out of reach of children, wash your hands thoroughly after performing the test!
