Vibrofilter Autoshim Flex 10

A self-adhesive, lightweight thermo-acoustic mat based on foamed rubber (synthetic rubber) with a combination of closed cells of varying sizes. This internal structure provides high levels of sound attenuation and absorption, as well as excellent thermal insulation properties. Vibrofiltr Autoshim Flex's soft and flexible rubber foam mats can be easily installed on surfaces with flat or irregular surfaces. They are designed for use in vehicles as thermal insulators, preventing excessive heating or cooling of the vehicle interior, and as effective acoustic barriers, isolating the cabin from external mechanical noise (road noise from the wheels, engine, etc.). Thanks to their oil- and water-resistant properties, these foams have a wide range of applications and can be applied to most body parts, such as the floor, roof, wheel arches, inside the trunk lid, and inside door compartments. The unique structure and resistance to water and moisture make Autoshim Flex foams ideal for use under car carpets, effectively blocking road noise from entering the vehicle cabin. They can also be used on exterior body elements (e.g., windshield pans, outer wheel arches, and engine hoods). For best results, it is recommended to use them in conjunction with self-adhesive aluminum-butyl mats, which are designed to dampen vibrations and resonances from the substrate. The thermo-acoustic foam should be applied to metal body elements that have previously been damped with aluminum-butyl anti-vibration mats. This product is not recommended for soundproofing door panels or similar upholstery surfaces.

HOW TO EFFECTIVELY SILENCE YOUR CAR?

The highest level of soundproofing a vehicle's interior can only be achieved by comprehensive soundproofing (damping, acoustic isolation, and soundproofing) of all key body and interior components, layering these components (where possible and space permits) with three different types of the most effective, top-class materials, each with different acoustic properties, operating in a different frequency range, and fulfilling a different role. These are:

• layer 1 – highly effective anti-vibration materials that dampen vibrations and resonances of body elements and additionally isolate the interior from external noise, which are high-quality mats based on butyl, aluminum and polymers with the highest possible MLF value (e.g. Vibrofiltr PRO damping mats),
• layer 2 – foam insulation – sound barriers with a closed-cell structure, blocking the passage of road noise into the cabin and additionally thermally insulating the interior against excessive heating and rapid cooling (e.g. Vibrofiltr Flex rubber foams, Vibrofiltr ECO polyethylene foams),
• layer 2 / 3 – soft, porous sound-absorbing materials with an open and/or partially closed cell structure, which, in addition to their sound-absorbing properties, also act as shock-absorbing spacers and dampen the resonance of plastic upholstery elements and reduce the creaking and squeaking of these elements (e.g. Vibrofiltr Autoshim, Vibrofiltr Autoshim Wave polyurethane sound-absorbing foams, Vibrofiltr Felt Acoustic non-woven fabric-based sound-absorbing mats).
